§ 2 Personal Data
“Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, Art. 4 No. 4 GDPR.
§ 3 Data Collected When Accessing Our Website
When simply accessing our website, data is already collected without you registering or otherwise providing us with information. This data is transmitted by the browser used on your device to the server. These are so-called “server log files,” meaning the information is temporarily stored in such a log file.
The following data is collected automatically when accessing our website:
- IP address of the requesting computer,
- if applicable, name of your access provider,
- amount of data transmitted in bytes,
- date and time of access,
- name and URL of the requested file,
- source/link from which the access occurred (referrer URL),
- browser used and browser version,
- operating system of your computer
This data is processed to ensure a smooth connection setup of the website and its proper and convenient use. In addition, the data is used for evaluating system stability and security as well as for administrative purposes.
The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the purposes of data collection listed above. The data is not used to draw conclusions about your identity.
In addition, social media services are integrated into our website. Further details can be found in §§ 7 ff. of this privacy policy.
§ 4 Contact via Email
(1) When you contact us by email, we store the data you provide via email in our systems. In order to ensure a smooth response to your request, e.g., in the context of business initiation or execution, we may ask you to provide additional information (e.g., name, address, phone number), which we will also store in our systems. All of this information can, of course, be provided voluntarily; data processing for the purpose of contacting us is carried out on the basis of your voluntarily given consent, in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
(2) After your request has been fully processed, your data will be deleted. This is the case if the circumstances indicate that the matter in question has been conclusively clarified and there are no statutory retention requirements to the contrary.
§ 5 Use of the Contact Form
We offer you the option to get in touch with us via a contact form. Certain mandatory fields are required so that we know who submitted the request and in order to be able to answer it. Additional information can be provided voluntarily. Which data is collected when using the contact form can be found in the respective contact form. § 4 (2) applies accordingly.
§ 6 Disclosure of Data
Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below.
We only share your personal data with third parties in the following cases:
- You have given your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
- The disclosure is necessary in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in not having your data disclosed.
- The disclosure of your data is legally permissible and necessary under Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR for the performance of contractual relationships with you. This is the case, for example, when we engage a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR for order processing, with whom we have concluded a contract in accordance with this regulation.
- There is a legal obligation to disclose in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR.
§ 7 Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your device when you visit our site. Such files do not cause any damage to your device, and they do not contain viruses, trojans, or other harmful software.
Cookies store information related to the specific device used. However, this does not mean that we gain immediate knowledge of your identity.
Cookies are used, on the one hand, to make the use of our online services more pleasant for you. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages of our website. Such cookies are automatically deleted once you leave our site.

§ 8 Social Media Plug-ins
On our website, social plug-ins from the social networks Facebook, Xing, and LinkedIn are used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR in order to increase awareness of our company. This advertising purpose is to be considered a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. The responsibility for the data protection-compliant operation of these services lies with their respective providers. The integration of these plug-ins is done using the so-called two-click method to provide the best possible protection for visitors to our website.
(1) Facebook
Our website uses, based on Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, the social media plugin from Facebook. This is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (hereinafter “Facebook”). You can usually recognize this plugin by the Facebook logo (a white “F” on a blue background).
When you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your internet browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated into the website. Through this integration, Facebook receives the information, even if you are not a Facebook user or not logged into Facebook, that your browser has accessed the respective page of our website. This information, including your IP address, is transmitted from your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can directly assign the visit to our website to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there. In this case, the information is published on Facebook and, depending on your individual privacy settings on Facebook, made visible to your Facebook friends or a broader audience.
Facebook may use this information for further purposes (e.g., advertising, market research, etc.). For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest, and relationship profiles—for example, to analyze your use of our website with regard to the ads displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our site, and to provide other Facebook-related services.
If you do not want Facebook to associate the data collected via our website directly with your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.

When you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of Instagram. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Instagram to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Instagram receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not logged into Instagram at the time.
This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a server of Instagram in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into Instagram, Instagram can directly assign the visit to our website to your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by pressing the “Instagram” button, this information is also transmitted directly to a server of Instagram and stored there.
The information is also published on your Instagram account and shown to your contacts there.
If you do not want Instagram to associate the data collected via our website directly with your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website.

(3) XING
Our website also uses plugins from Xing. You can recognize these by the “XING Share Button.” When you access our website, your browser briefly establishes a connection to the servers of XING AG (“XING”), which provide the “XING Share Button” functions (in particular the calculation/display of the counter value). XING does not store any personal data from you when you access this website, in particular no IP addresses. Your usage behavior in connection with the Share Button is also not evaluated. (4) LinkedIn
We use the LinkedIn plugin of LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Data protection matters outside the USA are handled by LinkedIn Ireland, Privacy Policy Issues, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.
When you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to LinkedIn’s servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from LinkedIn to your browser and integrated into the website. Through this integration, LinkedIn receives the information, even if you are not a LinkedIn user or not logged in, that your browser has accessed the respective page of our website. This information, including your IP address, is transmitted directly to a LinkedIn server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into LinkedIn, LinkedIn can directly associate the visit to our website with your LinkedIn account. LinkedIn always receives the information that you have visited our website if you are logged in at the time of access, regardless of whether you interact with the LinkedIn component or not. § 9 Google Analytics
On our website, we use, based on Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, the service “Google Analytics.” This is a web analytics service of Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
In this process, pseudonymized usage profiles are created, and cookies (see § 7) are used. The information generated by cookies about user behavior on this website includes:
- Operating system used,
- Browser type/version,
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page),
- Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address),
- Time of the server request.
are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The data obtained is used to evaluate the use of the website, compile reports on website activities, and provide other services related to the use of the website and internet usage for the purposes of market research and the needs-based design of these web pages.

§ 10 Other Tools
(1) YouTube
We embed YouTube videos on our website. YouTube is a service provided by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA ("YouTube"). YouTube is a subsidiary of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”).
The videos stored on YouTube are displayed in an iFrame on our website. The "Enhanced Privacy Mode" option is activated, which means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to the website. Only when you watch a video will information be transmitted to YouTube and stored there.

(2) Google Maps
We use maps from the Google Maps (API) service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). This service is used to display interactive maps to visually present geographic information, such as our location, so you can find us more easily.
When you access the pages where Google Maps material is embedded, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google's servers and stored there. This occurs regardless of whether you have a Google user account. If you have a Google account and are logged in, your data is directly associated with your personal account. If you do not want this, you must log out before using the service. Google stores your data (even for non-logged-in users) as usage profiles and evaluates them. Such evaluation is carried out in particular in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of Google’s legitimate interests in displaying personalized advertising, market research, and/or the needs-based design of its website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, although you must contact YouTube/Google to exercise this right.
You can completely deactivate Google Maps by disabling the “JavaScript” application in your browser.

§ 11 Payment with PayPal
We use PayPal as a payment component. The provider of this payment service is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter referred to as “PayPal”). When paying via PayPal, the payment data you provide is transmitted to PayPal on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR (consent) and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (processing for the performance of a contract).

§ 12 Data Protection in Job Applications
It may happen that applicants apply to us. Applications can be submitted by post or by email.
If an employment contract is concluded with an applicant, we store the data sent to us (e.g., email correspondence, CV, cover letter) for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with legal requirements.
If an applicant is rejected, we will delete the application documents, if submitted by email, two months after notifying the applicant of the rejection, unless other legitimate interests (e.g., proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act, AGG) prevent this. If submitted in paper form, we will return the application documents to the applicant within the same period, provided no other legitimate interests prevent this.
§ 13 Your Rights as a Data Subject
You have the right to:
- in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you may request information about the purposes of processing, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to rectification, deletion, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right to lodge a complaint, the source of your data if it was not collected from us, as well as the existence of automated decision-making including profiling and, if applicable, meaningful information about its details;
- in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, request the immediate rectification of incorrect or completion of your personal data stored by us;
- in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, request the deletion of your personal data stored by us, unless processing is required for exercising the right to freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
- in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, request the restriction of processing of your personal data if the accuracy of the data is contested by you, the processing is unlawful but you oppose its deletion and we no longer need the data, but you require it for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, or you have objected to the processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR;
- in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, or request the transfer to another controller;
- in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR, revoke your consent once given at any time to us. As a result, we may no longer continue the data processing based on this consent in the future; and
- in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR, lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace, or of our company headquarters.
§ 14 Duration of Data Storage
Your personal data will be stored in accordance with statutory retention periods, unless otherwise stated in this privacy policy. Retention periods may, for example, be of a commercial or tax nature. After the expiration of the statutory retention periods, the corresponding data will be deleted, provided they are no longer required for the performance of the contract and/or we have no legitimate interest in the continued storage of your data.
§ 15 RIGHT TO OBJECT
IF WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON THE BASIS OF LEGITIMATE INTERESTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ART. 6 PARA. 1 SENTENCE 1 LIT. F GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT TO SUCH PROCESSING IN ACCORDANCE WITH ART. 21 GDPR, PROVIDED THERE ARE GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION. IF YOUR OBJECTION RELATES TO DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE A GENERAL RIGHT TO OBJECT, WHICH WE WILL IMPLEMENT WITHOUT REQUIRING A SPECIFIC SITUATION.
